Camouflage
Camouflage - (Disruptive patterns) Fabric prints with splotches of green, brown and black coloured areas. Intended to make the wearer of a garment hard to distinguish from the background.

Colouring - The arrangement of colours for a design by the colourist. He achieves special effects by arranging several colours in different colour combinations.

Chinoiserie - Any Western interpretation of an oriental design. (also called kashmere, paisley)

Colour matching - The adjustment of the proportions of various dyes present in a piece of cloth to suitably match a given sample.

Croquis - A fully painted design that is not in repeat; same as sketch. French> dessin, creation. German> Entwurf.

Crocodile leather optics - Printed texture and look of crocodile skins.

Collection - Samples containing a variety of designs; the main collections are the summer and winter collections.

Chiné/ warp print - A style of printing in which the lengthwise yarns are placed on the loom, a design is printed on these yarns, after which the crosswise yarns are inserted. Imitated patterns for textile prints are used for gowns and other highly decorative garments.

Cylinder - French word for round stencils.

Coupon - French word for swatch. A small piece of cloth in several colours used as a sample.

Chintz - A printed and glazed cotton fabric, usually of bright colours.
